If you’re a sports fan like me who can’t always decide what to watch, game time just got better.

YouTube TV, Google’s TV streaming platform, is allegedly rolling out customizable multiview for subscribers, according to reports from some Reddit users. The new feature moves away from preset channel bundles and lets you choose any channel to build your own multiview, so you can watch up to four games or shows at once without needing multiple monitors.

Reddit users reported that you can select Add to multiview to see up to four different channels on your TV or mobile device, essentially allowing you to watch sports, news, a cooking show and a reality TV show at once. If you prefer to see one in full-screen mode, just click on that screen for a bigger view.

A few years ago, YouTube TV started testing customizable multiview, but didn’t share a timeline for when (or if) we would see it.

Customizable multiview seems to be a slow rollout. We don’t know how long it will take for all subscribers to access it on TV and mobile devices, nor which plans will include it. A representative for YouTube TV didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Customizable multiview isn’t for everyone yet

Though some Reddit users report seeing YouTube TV’s customizable multiview (even for mobile), others say it’s not available yet.

I was hoping to test it out myself while catching up on the highlights from the first round of the NFL draft. While I was able to build a multiview, I could only select certain channels or a preset combination. With the new customizable multiview feature, you’re supposed to be able to choose from all channels.

Xfinity already launched a customizable multiview feature, and CNET Senior Editor Kourtnee Jackson got a peek during the Winter Olympics. Xfinity lets you choose up to four channels to watch different sports events and enlarge the one you wan to see in full-screen mode at any time..

YouTube TV’s customizable multiview feature will definitely come in handy for sports and major events, such as awards shows and the NBA Finals.

I’m hoping to get access before the NFL season starts.
