Samsung has now started testing the upcoming One UI 9 on the Galaxy S26 FE, according to a usually reliable tipster on X. The first build is identified as S741NKSU0AZE5, and the Korean S26 FE’s model number is now confirmed to be SM-S741N.

The fact that Samsung is testing One UI 9 on this device means it will be launching with that version of the company’s skin out of the box. And that in turn means the Galaxy S26 FE will not come out sooner than the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Flip8, which will mark the debut of One UI 9 when they get announced on July 22.

This, of course, isn’t surprising, seeing as how the Galaxy S25 FE was unveiled in September of last year, but it’s still good to have this sort of indirect confirmation nevertheless.

According to a Geekbench run from April, the S26 FE will be powered by the Exynos 2500 SoC, an upgrade over its predecessor’s Exynos 2400. The chip will be paired with 8GB of RAM, so there’s no increase there.
