Motorola’s 2026 Edge May Be One of the Lightest Phones I’ve Seen With 3 Rear Cameras

Motorola has revamped its Edge phone for 2026, and it looks like the new design emphasizes being lightweight. At 160 grams, which is lighter than Apple’s iPhone Air (165g) and Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge (163g), Motorola’s Edge still manages to include a triple camera system featuring a telephoto lens for zoom. That camera system includes a 50-megapixel wide camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom. Around the front of the phone’s 6.3-inch display is also a 50-megapixel selfie camera.

For the phone’s $600 price, that kind of camera system, along with the phone’s lighter weight, is quite notable. Last year’s Edge phone, for reference, is much heavier at 181 grams, but it did include a larger 6.7-inch display with curved edges.

Going back to the phone’s price, the $600 price is a $50 increase over last year’s Edge, which isn’t unusual in a year where many other phones are getting more expensive. But there are several trade-offs over last year’s Edge that make the price hike feel like shrinkflation. This year’s Edge includes only 128GB, whereas last year’s phone packed 256GB for less money. This also feels particularly expensive when comparing the Edge with other $600 phones like Google’s Pixel 10A, Apple’s iPhone 17E and Motorola’s own Moto G Stylus. All three of those come in a 256GB model for the same $600 price.

This puts the Edge in a slightly awkward spot when compared with other phones. While the Edge’s camera system and light weight are notable for its price, it’s concerning that you’ll probably fill up the 128GB of storage on the phone rather quickly if you shoot tons of photos with the camera. We’ll need to get hands-on time with the phone and its camera to see if the design and photography can help it stand out, but on paper, it does seem like most people will likely benefit from an option that includes more storage, even if it requires sacrificing that 3x optical zoom.

Other notable specs on the Motorola Edge include its 60-watt wired charging (which is fast for this price range), 15-watt wireless charging (which is average) and a 5,000-mAh battery. It’s powered by the midrange MediaTek 7450 processor, which is similar to what Motorola includes in the $800 Razr for 2026.

The Motorola Edge goes on sale June 11.
