Introduction

What do you get if a smartphone maker and a sports car designer make a collab? Infinix Note 60 Ultra, apparently. With the race aesthetics proficiency of Pininfarina and the risk-taking tendencies of Infinix, we’ve got a unique offer, one that comes in one of a kind bundle.

The Infinix Note 60 Ultra is the natural continuation of the Note Pro series, one that boldly steps into the flagship killer territory.

The Note 60 Ultra is an eye-catcher right out of the bat with slim display bezels, metal frame, and a unique back design with carbon fiber pattern, Dot Matrix Display and a Floating taillight red LED, the cherry on the cake of this design.

The phone packs a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 1,208p resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and HDR support. At the heart of the Ultra is the Dimensity 8400 Ultra chip with 12GB LPDDRX5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage – a solid hardware for solid oomph under the hood.

The camera department is the best Infinix has offered to this date – a 200MP 1/1.4-inch Samsung HPE main sensor with 2x lossless zoom, a 3.5x periscope zoom with a Samsung JN5 1/2.76-inch sensor, an 8MP AF 112° ultra-wide, and a 32MP 4K-capable selfie shooter.

The Note 60 Ultra is powered by a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, as well as bypass, reverse wired and reverse wireless charging options available to you.

There is a lot more to uncover with this Note 60 Ultra, so let’s go through the specs and get this review started.

Infinix Note 60 Ultra specs at a glance:

  • Body: 162.3×77.2×7.9mm, 220g; Glass front (Gorilla Glass 7i), aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass Victus (camera island only); IP64 dust tight and water resistant (water splashes), Active matrix display (on the back).
  • Display: 6.78″ AMOLED, 144Hz, 2304Hz PWM, 700 nits (typ), 1600 nits (HBM), 4500 nits (peak), 1208x2644px resolution, 19.7:9 aspect ratio, 429ppi; Ultra HDR support.

  • Memory: 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM; UFS 4.0.
  • OS/Software: Android 16, up to 3 major Android upgrades, XOS 16.
  • Rear camera: Wide (main): 200 MP, f/1.7, 23mm, 1/1.4″, 0.56µm, dual-pixel PDAF, OIS; Telephoto: 50 MP, f/2.9, 80mm, 1/2.76″, 0.64µm, dual-pixel PDAF, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom; Ultra wide angle: 8 MP, f/2.2, 112˚, 1.12µm, AF.
  • Front camera: 32 MP, f/2.2, (wide).

  • Battery: 7000mAh; 100W wired, 50% in 18 min, 100% in 48 min, 50W wireless, 10W reverse wired, 10W reverse wireless, Bypass Charging (gaming, navigating).
  • Connectivity: 5G; eSIM; Wi-Fi 6; BT 5.4; NFC; FM radio; Infrared port.
  • Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); stereo speakers; Two-way satellite communication service (provided by Space42’s Thuraya product line; requires separate plan and SIM).

We would have liked to see complete ingress protection instead of the rated basic IP64 splash resistance. And that’s about the only thing we can think of coming up short at specs sheet level.

Unboxing the Infinix Note 60 Ultra

Sit down for one of the most interesting unboxing experiences we’ve seen in quite a while!

The Infinix Note 60 Ultra comes in a large black box, almost like a cube with about 30cm long side. The box has this pleasant cloth-like finish and has two snap locks on the sides. You can immediately tell it’s a special edition device.

Once you open those locks, you can remove the top and then split the package into two large compartments.

And there are so many goodies inside. The basics are covered – the phone is here, there is a 100W power adapter, a USB cable, and even a USB-C pair of earbuds and a Track-Edition SIM ejector.

You also get a MagSafe-enabled case and a glass screen protector with an install kit.

Here comes the best part. The bundle also contains a round 50W magnetic wireless charger by Infinix with carbon-fiber pattern. You can (and you should!) install this pad onto the supercar-shaped base made of zinc alloy and carbon-fiber-imitating plastic. There is a special placeholder for the charging puck at the top plus a clever hideout for USB cable on its underside.

The case snaps beautifully on this car-shaped charger and each night you get to enjoy how these two click together and rest on your desk/nightstand.

One thing we should note is that the MagSafe case is extremely rigid, an absolute nightmare to put on the phone and an even bigger one to remove. Each of these operations was a test of its bendability, and the cracking noises were quite worrying. The designers should have known better.
