Today’s NYT Connections puzzle is a fun one. The purple category expects you to find hidden words inside of certain phrases, but this time, it’s easier than usual. Read on for clues and today’s Connections answers.

The Times has a Connections Bot, like the one for Wordle. Go there after you play to receive a numeric score and to have the program analyze your answers. Players who are registered with the Times Games section can now nerd out by following their progress, including the number of puzzles completed, win rate, number of times they nabbed a perfect score and their win streak.

Hints for today’s Connections groups

Here are four hints for the groupings in today’s Connections puzzle, ranked from the easiest yellow group to the tough (and sometimes bizarre) purple group.

Yellow group hint: I see it coming.

Green group hint: Airplane mode is another.

Blue group hint: Think Match.com.

Purple group hint: Words hidden in other words.

Answers for today’s Connections groups

Yellow group: Premonition.

Green group: Cellphone modes.

Blue group: Bad things to do in modern dating.

Purple group: Phrases whose second words include their first word.

The theme is premonition. The four answers are gut feeling, hunch, intuition and sixth sense.

The green words in today’s Connections

The theme is cell phone modes. The four answers are do not disturb, ring, silent and vibrate.

The blue words in today’s Connections

The theme is bad things to do in modern dating. The four answers are breadcrumb, catfish, ghost and love bomb.

The purple words in today’s Connections

The theme is phrases whose second words include their first word. The four answers are Air Cairo, All Hallows, arm warmer and The Others.
