Today’s NYT Connections puzzle features a really fun purple category, especially for chocolate-lovers like me. Read on for clues and today’s Connections answers.

The Times has a Connections Bot, like the one for Wordle. Go there after you play to receive a numeric score and to have the program analyze your answers. Players who are registered with the Times Games section can now nerd out by following their progress, including the number of puzzles completed, win rate, number of times they nabbed a perfect score and their win streak.

Hints for today’s Connections groups

Here are four hints for the groupings in today’s Connections puzzle, ranked from the easiest yellow group to the tough (and sometimes bizarre) purple group.

Yellow group hint: Has a smart mouth.

Green group hint: A seamstress might need these.

Blue group hint: Ante up.

Purple group hint: Sweet treat.

Answers for today’s Connections groups

Yellow group: Cheeky.

Green group: Dress measurements.

Blue group: Cards in Texas Hold ‘Em.

Purple group: Last words of candy brands in the singular.

The yellow words in today’s Connections

The theme is cheeky. The four answers are arch, fresh, sassy and wise.

The green words in today’s Connections

The theme is dress measurements. The four answers are bust, hips, length and waist.

The blue words in today’s Connections

The theme is cards in Texas Hold ‘Em. The four answers are flop, hole, river and turn.

The purple words in today’s Connections

The theme is last words of candy brands in the singular. The four answers are cap (Bottle Cap or Sno-Cap), dud (Milk Dud), kid (Sour Patch Kid) and mint (Junior Mint).

Toughest Connections puzzles
