Samsung announced that its SmartThings home automation system now supports Now Brief integration. Now Brief made its debut on the Galaxy S25 series and provides glanceable contextual information like weather updates, upcoming calendar events and reminders on supported Galaxy devices. With the new update, Now Brief will also support relevant information from SmartThings-enabled devices.

This includes updates from SmartThings-compatible home security cameras, as well as integration with Samsung’s Pet Care and Family Care monitoring services. This means that your 2024 or newer Samsung smart TV will now be able to display relevant information about home security, family health/activity, as well as pet information through cards when you approach your TV.

In related news, Samsung’s Family Care feature, which provides notifications for family members and pets, can now offer reminders for medical visits and medications for caregivers. The Care on Call feature allows relevant details like daily activity levels and local weather to appear in a pop-up window during calls with family members who are part of the Samsung Family Care suite.

In addition, Samsung’s Safety Patrol feature, which uses the camera on SmartThings-compatible robot vacuums to check on your home, can now recognize if a person has fallen and needs assistance. Compatible robot vacuums can provide visual feedback alongside access to their microphones for communication with the care recipient.
