LG’s New Ultralight Gram Laptops Just Dropped, With Special Service Plan Pricing

LG announced on Thursday that its six 2026 Gram laptop models are available for preorder. Headed up by the premium-priced 3-pound, 16- and 17-inch Gram Pro, the new slate of computers also includes the budget-friendly 15- and 16-inch Gram Book, a convertible two-in-one and a Copilot Plus PC clamshell.

The new laptops are shipping with a special, limited-time one-year LG Premium Care extended warranty deal for $1, but it’s only available until May 10 for select models.

Here’s the breakdown of the latest LG Gram laptops — and whether the warranty might justify a purchase.

The base model is positioned as a midrange computer combining a sleeker design and decent specifications with a lower price point.

The 2026 LG Gram Pro leads the latest lineup of laptops

Two new Gram Pro laptops headline the lineup refresh. These laptops are the first to use the company’s proprietary Aerominum material, which keeps weight down to just 3 pounds while improving strength and scratch resistance. While LG has several configurations for both sizes, there are just two options.

The 16-inch model features:

  • 2,560×1,600-pixel resolution IPS display
  • AMD Ryzen AI 7 450 processor
  • 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM
  • 2TB of storage

The 17-inch model has:

  • 2,560×1,600-pixel resolution IPS display
  • Intel Core Ultra 7 355 CPU
  • 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM
  • 512GB of storage

The AMD-powered 16-inch Gram Pro is available for preorder now at $2,400, while the Intel-powered 17-inch model is available for preorder at $1,650. Unfortunately, neither has the discrete Nvidia RTX 5050 graphics available in other configurations.

There are three more newly refreshed Gram laptops available now with the $1 premium care option: the Gram Pro 2-in-1, the Gram Book and a standard Gram laptop.

As with many convertible devices, the 16-inch Gram Pro 2-in-1 sacrifices performance in tablet mode, making it a more appealing choice for artists and notetakers. Shipping with a 2,880×1,800-resolution OLED screen, this device supports touch or stylus input and features an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of storage. The 16-inch LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 is available for preorder now at $2,200.

The more affordable Gram Book is available in new 15.6- and 16-inch models that support both Intel and AMD processors, respectively. The 15.6-inch Gram Book is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 115U processor and has 1TB of storage, but only 16GB of DDR5 RAM — so don’t expect to do any heavy-duty AI-powered lifting with this computer. The 16-inch Gram Book is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 7 445 CPU and features 1TB of storage and 32GB of LPDDR5X memory. Frankly, for a couple of hundred extra dollars, that likely puts it in a comparatively much better place than the 15.6-inch model.

The 15.6-inch Intel-powered Gram Book is available for preorder now at $1,150, while the 16-inch AMD-powered Gram Book is available for preorder now at $1,500.

Last but not least, the good ol’ 15-inch Gram model is getting a refresh, too. The LG Gram 15 is a Copilot-enabled clamshell powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 7 450 CPU, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of storage space. The LG Gram 15 is available for preorder now at $1,600.

The LG Premium Care warranty deal applies to the six new models, including the two separate LG Gram Book configurations.

LG

The extended warranty deal is a pretty steep discount

Right now, we’re experiencing an unprecedented surge in tech prices amid volatile market conditions. Tariffs, war and the dreaded RAMageddon are driving up laptop prices. If you’re going to buy such an expensive piece of hardware, I think it’s becoming a no-brainer to insure it.

An extended warranty is another cost for consumers to absorb, but this special LG Premium Care deal offers a super steep discount on this new laptop lineup. One year of LG Premium Care would normally cost anywhere between $130 (for the Gram Books) and $175 (for the Gram Pros).

Purchasing some peace of mind for a couple of hundred dollars’ discount isn’t too shabby — but I wouldn’t rush to shell out thousands of dollars for a warranty deal. Certain laptop configurations also very often go on sale in the months after their initial release, so even if the warranty isn’t this cheap again, the package deal may very well be cheaper at some point in the future.

If you’re looking for a new laptop and one of the six new LG Gram models is calling out to you, preordering one now to take advantage of the special one-year warranty deal isn’t a bad idea. But if you’re not in the market for a new laptop at this exact moment, I wouldn’t rush out the door (or to the website in this case) for this limited-time special warranty, either.
