Introduction

Honor’s smartphone lineup has rapidly expanded over the past couple of years, but the number series remains its main pillar. The midrange to premium family is by far the most successful and with this new 600 generation global markets will get the full set. The regular Honor 600 and Honor 600 Lite are joined by the Pro version in overseas markets and we now have its review ready.

The “Pro” moniker is well justified here. For one, instead of opting for a mid-range chipset like its vanilla Honor 600 sibling, the 600 Pro goes with a slightly older full-flagship silicon – the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Honor 600 Pro specs at a glance:

  • Body: 156.0×74.7×7.8mm, 200g; Glass front, glass back, aluminum frame; IP68/IP69K dust tight and water resistant (high pressure water jets; immersible up to 1.5m for 30 min).
  • Display: 6.57″ AMOLED, 1B colors, 120Hz, 3840Hz PWM, HDR Vivid, 8000 nits (peak), 1264x2728px resolution, 19.42:9 aspect ratio, 458ppi.
  • Chipset: Qualcomm SM8750-AC Snapdragon 8 Elite (3 nm): Octa-core (2×4.47 GHz Oryon V2 Phoenix L + 6×3.53 GHz Oryon V2 Phoenix M); Adreno 830 (1200 MHz).
  • Memory: 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM.
  • OS/Software: Android 16, MagicOS 10.
  • Rear camera: Wide (main): 200 MP, f/1.9, 1/1.4″, 0.56µm, PDAF, OIS; Telephoto: 50 MP, f/2.8, PDAF, 3.5x optical zoom; Ultra wide angle: 12 MP, f/2.2, 112-degree, AF.
  • Front camera: 50 MP, f/2.0, (wide).
  • Video capture: Rear camera: 4K, 1080p, gyro-EIS, OIS; Front camera: 4K, 1080p, gyro-EIS.
  • Battery: 7000mAh; 80W wired, 50W wireless, 27W reverse wired.
  • Connectivity: 5G; eSIM; Wi-Fi 7; BT 6.0, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, LHDC 5; NFC; Infrared port.
  • Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); stereo speakers.

The other big upgrade comes in the camera department, where the Honor 600 Pro matches the solid 200MP main and 12MP autofocusing ultrawide shooter of the regular 600 and adds a 3.5x telephoto camera.

Beyond that the two new 600 models have more similarities than differences. Both phones are well-made with excellent materials and top-notch IP68/69K ratings. They share a “Goldilocks” size with 6.57″ displays and slim bezels.

Other highlights of the 600 series include impressively large battery pack – 6,400 mAh in Europe and 7,000 mAh elsewhere – excellent connectivity and stereo speakers. So on paper, the Honor 600 Pro ticks all the boxes, yet it undercuts your typical flagship on price. That’s what we like to see.

Unboxing

The Honor 600 Pro ships in a thin and unassuming two-piece cardboard box. There is a cradle on the inside for the phone itself, and it’s made from hard cardboard and not plastic, which is great.

You don’t get any accessories in the box in Europe, where the regulations prohibit Honor from bundling a charger to begin with. Our unit came with a passive Type-C to Type-C cable. At least it is e-marked and can support up to 6A current, which is important to hit the 80W charging rate the phone supports.
