Honor 600 in for review

Now that we’ve unboxed the Honor 600 Pro, it’s time to do the same with the Honor 600.

Just like the Pro, the Honor 600 ships with a USB cable and nothing more. You’d need to supply your own case and charger.

So, how does the Honor 600 differ from its sibling? Well, from the outside, it doesn’t really. The only telltale sign is the missing third camera lens on the back for the zoom camera – the Honor 600 only has a wide-angle and an ultrawide. On the upside, the 200MP main camera and the 12MP ultrawide are the same as those on the Pro.

In the hand, the Honor 600 feels just as high-quality as the Pro. Because it is – you’ve got the same excellent IP68, IP69, IP69K coverage, and enhanced drop resistance.

The Honor 600 is also the same size, thanks to the same screen and battery, so it fits nicely in the hand. This is among the more compact phones out there.

To get specific, you’re getting a 6.57-inch 120Hz AMOLED with a claimed bonkers 8,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, and the same large battery. Depending on your locale, you have either 7,000mAh or 6,4000mAh (in Europe). Either way, the Honor 600 should pack endurance for days.

The Honor 600 uses a 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC with 12GB of RAM, and things feel nice and smooth. Honor’s UI on top of Android 16 is also familiar and powerful, with all the AI smarts you can shake a stick at. We’re not overly fond of Android maker’s overly enthusiastic iOS copy job, but at least it looks nice.

You also get the same camera key on the right side of the phone. It’s a great nice-to-have when you’re out and about and taking photos with your phone.

The Honor 600 is an attractive proposition at first glance. Its size is just right, it feels nicely made and robust in the hand, the screen is high-end, and it should last a long time on a charge.

We have some tests we need to run before we call this one a home run. So we’re off!
