GoPro has unveiled its new Mission 1 series of cameras, bringing upgrades such as a larger 1-inch type sensor, a new GP3 processor, and support for interchangeable MFT lenses. The lineup consists of the Mission 1, Mission 1 Pro, and the Mission 1 Pro ILS.

All three models are equipped with a new 50MP 1-inch type sensor, said to capture more light than those used in previous generations.

The cameras are powered by a new 5nm GP3 processor, enabling video recording capabilities such as 1080p at 960fps, 8K at 60fps and 30fps, 4K 120fps Open Gate, and 4K at 240fps, among others.

GoPro says the new chipset also integrates an upgraded AI NPU for improved video processing and enhanced low-light performance. The cameras are backed by a new Enduro 2 battery, which is claimed to deliver over 5 hours of recording at 1080p30 and more than 3 hours at 4K30 on a single charge.

Audio has also been improved with a four-microphone setup and support for 32-bit float recording. Additional features include Bluetooth 5.3, HLG HDR, 10-bit color with GP-Log2, Timecode Sync, up to 240Mbps bitrate, and support for 50MP photos.
