Google today unveiled Gemini Intelligence, a suite of features coming to the Galaxy S26 series and Pixel 10 family “this summer”. These features “will become available across your Android devices including your watch, car, glasses and laptops later this year”, the company says.
Gemini Intelligence can automate multi-step tasks for you, and navigate the tasks too. And with visual context, Gemini can instantly act. For example, a grocery list on your screen can easily be turned into a shopping cart with all the items for delivery. Or if you see a travel brochure you can ask Gemini to find a tour like that on Expedia for a group of six. While Gemini works in the background on tasks like these you can track its progress live through a notification. When it’s done, you only need to give it a final confirmation.
Starting in late June, Chrome on Android will get Gemini to help you research, summarize, and compare content across the web. And with Auto Browse, Gemini can book appointments or reserve a parking spot on your behalf. At the same time, Autofill with Google will use Gemini’s Personal Intelligence to automatically fill in “even more of those tiny text fields across your apps, including Chrome”. Connecting Gemini to Autofill with Google is opt-in.
Rambler will be a new feature in Gboard that will just let you talk normally, complete with “ums” and “ahs” and “likes” and will then ‘translate’ all of that into text that is clean and tidy. It will even understand when you’re talking in multiple languages in the same sentence. Rambler will clearly show you when you’ve enabled it.
Gemini Intelligence also lets you build custom widgets for Android and Wear OS with Create My Widget – all it takes is a text prompt.
Finally, Gemini Intelligence comes with “an updated design language” which is “not only beautiful but functional, animating with purpose to reduce distractions and allow you to focus on the task at hand”, Google says.
