Samsung could be preparing to bring one of its most useful Ultra-exclusive features to a wider audience.
According to a new leak, the upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro may inherit the Privacy Display technology that debuted on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The feature helps protect privacy by restricting what people can see when viewing the screen from the side. Unlike traditional privacy filters, Samsung’s implementation reportedly reduces viewing angles without noticeably affecting brightness. As a result, this allows users to keep the display clear and vibrant while protecting sensitive information.
According to prominent leaker Digital Chat Station, Samsung is planning to equip both the Galaxy S27 Ultra and the new Galaxy S27 Pro with the technology. If accurate, it would be one of the clearest signs yet. Samsung wants to position the Pro as more than just another mid-tier flagship.
What makes Privacy Display particularly useful is its flexibility. Rather than applying the effect across the entire interface, users can enable it for specific apps and notifications. Consequently, this helps keep messages, banking apps, and other private content hidden from nearby eyes while leaving the rest of the phone unaffected.
The Galaxy S27 Pro is already shaping up to be an interesting addition to Samsung’s lineup. Rumours suggest the company is preparing a four-model Galaxy S27 family. The Pro will sit between the Plus and Ultra variants.
While it may miss out on the Ultra’s built-in S Pen, previous leaks have pointed to several premium features making the jump. Reports have suggested the S27 Pro could share the same main and ultrawide camera sensors as the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Differences are likely limited to the telephoto setup.
It’s also expected to feature a display measuring around 6.4 inches. This potentially makes it a more compact alternative for buyers who want flagship-level features without carrying Samsung’s largest handset.
Samsung retains plenty of time to adjust those plans before the next flagship lineup arrives. However, if the Privacy Display does make the jump from the Ultra to the Pro, Samsung’s next flagship lineup may end up looking a lot more closely matched than previous generations.
