Today Verizon is announcing that it’s joining Anthropic’s Project Glasswing to test the Claude Mythos Preview model. This model, according to Anthropic, is capable of identifying complex vulnerabilities in critical software and operating systems at unprecedented speed.

Due to its specialized capabilities, Anthropic set up Project Glasswing as a way to grant access to the Mythos Preview model to “a select group of global security leaders dedicated to protecting essential infrastructure and committed to sharing findings and best practices across industries”, Verizon’s press release on the matter says.

Verizon is one of those companies that now have access to Claude Mythos Preview through Project Glasswing, and will be using it to improve its ability to “identify and contain complex vulnerabilities” and maintain “its high standards of network protection”. Verizon promises that “every phase of the Mythos Preview testing process is governed by rigorous safety standards”.

Verizon CEO Dan Schulman said:

Our customers rely on the security of our network every day. As part of Project Glasswing, we are able to test and improve our cybersecurity efforts with new insights to maintain our network’s security. Over the past several months, our information security team has been rigorously testing this critical new technology to determine its benefits to our network. As the only telecommunications company utilizing Mythos Preview, we are uniquely positioned to share cross-industry insights that will help secure the global internet fabric and support our mission to deliver a safe and reliable experience for every customer.
