Ayaneo unveiled the Next 2 Windows gaming handheld in December, and the company has now provided an update on its shipping schedule. According to Ayaneo, the Next 2 will start shipping in June to Indiegogo backers.
Ayaneo’s suppliers have already started production of the key components of the Next 2, including the motherboard, screen, battery, and “other core parts”. Non-critical components have already been completed.
The company expects to start trial production of the handheld in early June, and mass production in mid-June. Thus, shipping the first orders will take place in late June, if everything goes according to plan from this point forward.
Ayaneo stopped taking orders for the Next 2 on March 23, and unfortunately the company says it “cannot currently guarantee additional production for new orders”. However, if you’re interested, you can contact its customer service team and register your preferred configuration and color option. “If circumstances allow”, Ayaneo says, it will “notify some customers if additional order opportunities become available” in the future. That said, it cannot promise anything “beyond the current plan”.
The company has also announced that the Konkr Fit Windows handheld will start production by the end of this month, which probably means it too will ship sometime in June if everything goes well.
