Following the very successful recent release of its Core Ultra Series 3 processors (codenamed Panther Lake), today Intel is unveiling their lower-end counterparts in the Core Series 3 – notice the distinct lack of “Ultra”. These are meant to go in cheaper laptops, and Intel says it’s aiming them at those consumers and small businesses that are on a five-year upgrade cycle.
Compared to a five-year-old PC powered by the Core i7-1185G7, these processors deliver up to 47% better single-thread performance, up to 41% better multi-thread performance, and up to 2.8 times better GPU AI performance. The Core Series 3 SKUs are built on Intel’s 18A process node technology, which Intel bills as “the most advanced logic node developed and manufactured in the US”.
The Core Series 3 is Intel’s first “hybrid AI-ready Core Series processor”, supporting AI workloads with up to 40 platform TOPS. The Core Series 3 processors support up to two Thunderbolt 4 ports, Bluetooth 6, and Wi-Fi 7. These are “designed for all-day battery life” with up to 64% “lower processor power” compared to the previous-gen Core 7 150U.

The table above provides a breakdown of the different SKUs that are available. They will appear very soon (from today, actually) in over 70 laptop designs from Acer, Asus, Dell, Honor, HP, Infinix, Lenovo, MSI, Samsung, Tecno, Wiko, and more.
As you can see, all of these SKUs have 6 cores, aside from the entry-level one which has 5. Their peak Turbo frequencies range from 4.3GHz to 4.8GHz, they all get the same 6MB of Smart Cache LLC, and of course the higher-end models have better NPUs and better GPUs. They all support LP5/X 7467 and DDR5 6400 memory with up to 48GB of the former and up to 64GB of the latter. TDP for all is 15W and Turbo TDP is 35W.
