Honor has announced that its flagship smartphone, the Magic8 Pro, has joined the Android 17 beta program and is now eligible to receive Android 17 Beta 3.

In a press release, Honor confirmed that developers can now download the Android 17 Beta 3 on the Magic8 Pro to test new features, evaluate app compatibility, and prepare their apps for the upcoming Android release.

Honor also outlined the key features included in Android 17 Beta 3, such as system-wide Bubbles, support for the RAW14 image format, expanded UI customization options, improved system controls, a more comprehensive Dark theme, and enhanced privacy and security features.

Honor noted that the Magic8 Pro must be running software version 10.0.0.162 (C636E4R105P2H2) or later in order to install the Android 17 Beta 3 update.

Google released Android 17 Beta 3 in late March, followed by the first QPR1 beta update late last month. The stable public release is expected to roll out in September. Google is also expected to share more details about the next version of Android during The Android Show: I/O Edition, which is scheduled to take place later today.
