OnePlus Nord CE6 in for review

This is the Nord CE6, OnePlus’s newest mid-range smartphone. It launches alongside the Nord CE6 Lite, and follows up on the successful launch of the more premium Nord 6 from last month.

Starting with a quick unboxing, the Nord CE6 presets no real surprises for is, which for a OnePlus product is a good thing. This means you are still getting the full set of in-box accessories, including an 80W charger, a cable, and a case. It’s good to see the company is still providing everything you need out of the box, even in this segment.

The design of the phone is very similar to that of the Nord 6. The two phones share dimensions, so really the only visually distinguishing factors are the camera design at the back and the colors. The Nord CE6 comes in three subtle shades of blue, pearl, and black, and has a simplified back camera design, as it has one less camera there compared to the Nord 6.

What it does not compromise on is the build quality. Like the Nord 6, the Nord CE6 is armed to the teeth with all the IP ratings you can think of, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. It even passes the MIL-STD-810H tests, as further evidence of its sturdiness.

Getting back to the cameras, the Nord CE6 has a single 50MP camera on the back with dual-axis OIS, capable of recording 4K video. On the front is a 32MP camera with autofocus, that can also shoot 4K video.

On the display front, the Nord CE6 has the same 144Hz 1.5K AMOLED display as the Nord 6. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, and the company promises 144fps gaming in select titles. Finally, the phone has a massive 8000mAh battery, that can also be used to reverse charge other devices.

The Nord CE6 will go on sale May 7. Check back again later for the full review.
