Introduction

The OnePlus Pad 4 is the newest premium Android tablet from the brand. It succeeds last year’s OnePlus Pad 3, and bears more than a passing resemblance.

It is quite easy to describe the OnePlus Pad 4 as it is a relatively straightforward iterative update over the Pad 3. It would be easier to list the number of things that have changed, as the list is rather short. The new tablet upgrades to the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, has a 10% larger battery, and supports new bespoke accessories in the form of a keyboard cover and a stylus.

OnePlus Pad 4 specs at a glance:

  • Body: 289.7×209.8×5.9mm, 672g; Glass front, aluminum frame, aluminum back; Stylus support.
  • Display: 13.20″ IPS LCD, 68B colors, Dolby Vision, 144Hz, 700 nits (typ), 1000 nits (HBM), 2400x3392px resolution, 12.72:9 aspect ratio, 315ppi.
  • Chipset: Qualcomm SM8850-AC Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3 nm).
  • Memory: 256GB 8GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM; UFS 4.1.
  • OS/Software: Android 16, OxygenOS 16.
  • Rear camera: 13 MP.
  • Front camera: 8 MP.
  • Video capture: Rear camera: 4K@30fps, 1080p@30ps, gyro-EIS; Front camera: 1080p@30fps.
  • Battery: 13380mAh; 80W wired.
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7; BT 6.0, aptX HD.
  • Misc: Accelerometer, proximity (accessories only), gyro, compass; stereo speakers (8 speakers).

Of course, the OnePlus Pad 3 was a fairly accomplished tablet, so a yearly iterative update doesn’t sound that bad, especially considering how rarely tablets get updated anyway. But should OnePlus have perhaps done a bit more? Let’s find out.

Unboxing

The OnePlus Pad 4 packaging is quite basic and includes the tablet, charger, and a cable. Accessories such as the stylus and keyboard case need to be purchased separately.
