It’s been more than three years since Chainsaw Man made its anime debut, marking the first incarnation of Tatsuki Fuijmoto’s popular manga on-screen. Season 2 is still in the works, but the feature-length film, Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc, was released last fall during this long, long wait. Now, the movie is set to hit streaming right on time for Ani-May.

In Season 1 of the show, fans witnessed teenage Denji’s transformation into Chainsaw Man and his recruitment into the Public Safety Division, a government group that hunts devils and safeguards society. There’s a lot of blood, gore and violent conflict in the series, but somehow, there’s also a tenderness seen in Denji through his dynamic with his devil buddy Pochita. Viewers will kind of see more of Denji’s soft side in the film when he meets Reze, a girl who expresses romantic interest in him. But don’t expect a soft, blood-free story, OK?

Learn when and where to catch Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc on streaming, plus see what else is happening for Crunchyroll’s Ani-May event.

Crunchyroll increased its prices this year, with the new subscription plan rates changing as follows: Fan is $10 per month; Mega Fan costs $14 per month; Ultimate Fan is now $18 a month.

Ani-May brings Anime Awards, Chainsaw Man and more

In addition to watching the Chainsaw Man film, fans should get ready for the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards as part of the streamer’s Ani-May celebration. The awards ceremony will stream live from Tokyo on Crunchyroll and TikTok on May 23, crowning new winners chosen by fans and judges.

Multiple watch parties will happen throughout the month on YouTube so you can join to watch a few titles with fellow fans around the globe, and on May 14, a seven-day Twitch livestream will commence. The anime marathon will be a first for Crunchyroll on the platform.
