Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Book6 series of laptops at CES in January – those were powered by Intel’s new 18A Core Ultra Series 3 processors. There is an Edge model coming too – “Edge” is what Samsung calls its ARM-powered laptops.

We know this because German retailer Cyberport jumped the gun and published the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Edge page on its online store. This appears to be the base 16” model with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. The whole kit costs a hefty €2,200.

The laptop is powered by the Snapdragon X2 Elite, specifically the X2E-88-100 variant. It is an 18-core CPU (of which 12 are prime cores and 6 are performance cores) and an XE-90 GPU clocked at 1.7GHz. It uses LPDDR5X RAM over a 128-bit bus (152GB/s). All X2 Elite variants have 80 TOPS NPUs (this is INT8 performance) for all those vaunted AI features in Windows 11.

The Galaxy Book6 Edge has a 16” OLED display with 2,880 x 1,800px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate (note: this is not a touchscreen). The screen has an anti-glare coating and can achieve 500 nits of brightness.

The laptop measures only 12.3mm thick and weighs 1.55kg. This is with a 61.8Wh battery that will last up to 22 hours on a single charge. It’s not clear whether there will be a smaller 14” model.

In terms of connectivity, there is one HDMI 2.1 port, two USB 4.0 and one USB 3.2 port (this one is USB-A), a headphone jack and a microSD slot. Wireless connectivity is handled by tri-band Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Also on board are a fingerprint reader and a 1080p webcam.

While you wait for Samsung to make the Galaxy Book6 Edge official, you can check out the European prices of the Intel-powered models – a 16” Book6 Pro starts at €1,900, but the base 16” Book6 starts at €1,250. Note that the vanilla model uses an IPS LCD, while the Pro (and the even more expensive Ultra) use OLED panels.
