On July 31, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will have its premiere in cinemas all across the world. In the movie, Spider-Man will be using a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, while Ned Leeds, another character, will try to locate him using a Galaxy Z Fold and a Galaxy Watch. To celebrate the paid product placement, Samsung has released the image you can see below, which could be showing the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
This will be the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7 from last year, if the latest rumors are to be believed. It has the same aspect ratio, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 launching alongside the Fold8 Ultra will be the wider foldable that’s been rumored for a few months now.
This device definitely has the Fold7’s aspect ratio. The reason we say this could be the Fold8 Ultra is that Samsung is expected to unveil its next-gen foldables at an event on July 22. The timing seems very right here – showcasing a year-old phone in a movie that comes out more than a week after you’ve announced its successor doesn’t make much sense, does it?
We can thus also assume the Flip that Spider-Man himself will use is the Galaxy Z Flip8. The watch is more of a mystery – it could be a Galaxy Watch9, but it may also be the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. We’ll have to wait and see.
Anyway, tomorrow Samsung will launch Spidey Tracker in 35 countries. This is what Ned Leeds uses in the movie to track Spider-Man, and it will be brought to life as a custom website for fans. You can follow Spider-Man sightings and engage with the story in real time.
