The smartphone world never gets boring – we’ve been covering it for 26 years now and we hope to continue to do so for many more years to come. Yes, it’s that time of year again, GSMArena.com is having a birthday party!
The last twelve months had their ups and downs – foldables were improving at a rapid pace, the first phones with 10,000mAh batteries were announced and we witnessed the potentially short-lived trend of super-slim phones trying to get off the ground. Also, the EU forced makers to display informative energy labels that also list durability and repairability stats. It was all going great, until the price of RAM and flash storage started to skyrocket.
Recently, we published a ranking of smartphone chipsets and found that the gap between the fastest chip and the slowest chip is bigger than we expected. Since we live in strange times when manufacturers are raising the prices of old phones instead of lowering them, it’s more important than ever to get the most bang for your buck.
GSMArena.com keeps growing and so does our social media presence. Our YouTube channel now has over 2 million subscribers, our Instagram has over 173 thousand followers and we’re on TikTok too. Our TikTok page sometimes gets exclusive and behind-the-scenes content, so check it out!
There were problems that we had to deal with in the past year too. Spammers decided to use our name in annoying emails to T-Online users in Germany – thankfully, that was resolved quickly. It’s the price of being popular, we guess.
We also have a sister site, ArenaEV.com, which we started in 2022. We love all battery-powered things, what can we say?
