We’re done with the battery life and charging tests of the Oppo Pad 5 Matte Display (also known as the Pad Air5).

The tablet combines a 10,050mAh battery with the 4nm Dimensity 7300 Ultra and a 12.1-inch 120Hz IPS LCD, which is a notable selling point on this machine. It’s the Matte Display Edition, essentially an anti-glare screen. It’s TÜV Rheinland certified for a 97% cut to reflections and a 70% reduction in harmful blue light.

It delivers in real life, too. It’s easily legible in strong daylight, making it a good companion for some on-the-go web work.

Alright, on to the battery life test. The Oppo Pad Air5 delivers a 13-hour Active Use Score, which is good. It breaks down like this – close to 49 hours of calling, 13 hours of browsing, close to 14 and a half hours of video playback, and 7 hours on the dot of gaming. We test calling on tablets using WhatsApp.

While overall good, the numbers are notably less impressive than those of the identically-specced OnePlus Pad Go 2 with the same 10,050mAh power pack.

The OnePlus scored an hour and a half more in the Active Use Score, some 13 hours more in the call test, 1 hour more in browsing, close to 1:30 hours more in video, and 1 hour more in the gaming test.

The Oppo Pad Air5 failed to impress in the charging test, which isn’t surprising – it’s got an unimpressive 33W charging speed (though it’s still called SuperVOOC for some reason).

It got to 16% in 15 minutes, 33% in half an hour, and took close to 2 hours to get to the full 100%. Still, the Oppo Pad Air5 mostly kept up, speed-wise, with the similarly-specced Honor MagicPad4, which, however, has twice the rated charging speed at 66W.
